I am a PhD student at The University of Edinburgh. My interest lies in how airway epithelial cells respond to subsequent exposures to viral and bacterial stimuli. It has been determined that Respiratory Syncytial Virus infection during infancy increases the risk of developing asthma. I am aiming at exploring how the virus affects the epigenome of airway epithelial cells. The investigation of epigenetic landscape of airway epithelial cells might give us better understanding of the relationship between RSV and asthma and possibly give the opportunity to develop a novel line of therapeutics.
