I am a Paediatric Doctor in training and my main interest is in lung health. I started my PhD with the Breathing Together Study at Imperial in September 2018. I work in local hospitals recruiting children with healthy lungs, wheezing and asthma to our study, and in the laboratory, working with airway epithelial cells and the lower airway immune environment. I’m trying to understand the role of genetic and environmental factors, including allergens, viruses and bacteria, in the initiation of wheezing and asthma. The aim is to be able to more accurately predict which children will develop wheezing and asthma, and guide more effective treatments in the future.
