Salary £31, 696 – £41,787 per annum plus up to £6,469 Inner London Allowance per annum or pro-rata

You will be involved in paediatric respiratory research, including a new study which will investigate factors that lead to the development of preschool wheezing and its progression to asthma. This post has arisen from a Wellcome Trust Strategic Award to undertake a study to investigate management of wheezing in preschool children. You will be directly involved in the recruitment, education and monitoring of patients and in the collection and documentation of accurate data. You may also be asked to work on other studies, based on your caseload and capacity to take on extra work. As well as working with clinical investigators, you will also work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary care teams involved in the management of patients on research studies to which you are assigned.

The post involves advertising and recruiting patients; screening and assessment; assisting with clinical study procedures (such as phlebotomy & nasal brushings); liaison with patients; data input and recording of trial observations; maintenance of health and safety and ethical standards.

You should be a fully qualified registered paediatric nurse with demonstrable post-registration experience in children’s respiratory disease. You must have excellent organisational and communication skills, be able to work autonomously and as part of a team.

This post can be either part-time or full-time, and is fixed term until 27 May 2019 and is available immediately, to be based at the Royal Brompton Hospital and Chelsea & Westminster Hospital.
